Suzanne Naro designs and delivers evidence-informed strategies that help governments and global institutions tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). She leads the development of policy frameworks, facilitates co-creation workshops with ministries of health, and supports the implementation of national AMR action plans.
Suzanne spearheaded the creation of the Smart Choice Process, a policy-responsive framework that helps countries identify and prioritize interventions for their national AMR action plans. She has led workshops across Rwanda, Uganda, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. Her work spans gender integration, One Health governance, and policy tools that translate research into actionable guidance.
With experience across 11 countries in Africa and Asia, Suzanne brings expertise in global health policy, program implementation, and humanitarian contexts. Trained in biology and human security, she specializes in qualitative and mixed-methods research, gender and equity analysis, and applied policy development in low-resource settings.
Suzanne holds an MSc in Human Security from Aarhus University (Denmark) and a BSc in Biology and Psychology from McMaster University (Canada).
