Kayla Strong is an Epidemiologist at the Global Strategy Lab, where she synthesizes and translates evidence specific to antimicrobial resistance and supports study design development. She completed her Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary, specializing in antimicrobial resistance transmission modelling within beef supply chain operations, aiming to influence both policy and practice in the Canadian beef industry. Kayla is deeply passionate about improving global public health through rigorous research and effective policy advocacy.
Prior to her Ph.D. studies, Kayla worked as a Risk Lead in Scenario Analytics at the Centre for Risk Studies at Cambridge University, where she developed a keen interest in risk modelling. Kayla also has a Master of Arts (Risk and Security) from Durham University (England) and an Undergraduate in Environmental Science (Geography) from the University of Waterloo (Canada).
