Fiona is a veterinary-research fellow at the Global Strategy Lab who supports the lab’s antimicrobial resistance policy research. Her previous policy and research experience focused on improving One Health approaches to global food security through climate-smart agricultural technologies, and infectious disease surveillance.
Fiona’s previous research and work experience was focused on improving One Health approaches to global food security and infectious disease surveillance in Australia and Southeast Asia: specifically, aquaculture diseases surveillance in Australia and transboundary animal disease control in Laos and Cambodia.
Fiona has worked with Veterinarians Without Borders in Meru, Kenya, WorldFish in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Environment Canada in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Fiona continues to work as a veterinarian in downtown Toronto where she treats dogs, cats and small mammals.
