Webinar – Saving Lives & Livelihoods: The role of WASH and Equity in AMR Response

Co-hosted by WaterAid UK and the Global Strategy Lab, the webinar held on March 27, 2025, brought together leading experts for a moderated panel discussion on the interconnections between antimicrobial resistance (AMR), water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and gender equity, within the contexts of both public health and livestock systems. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Masika Sophie.

The event marked one year since the Bellagio convening, where the 1-10-100 unifying goals were proposed, underscoring the ongoing need for an intersectional and equity-driven AMR response.

Panelists included Ms. Angela Nguku, Founder and Lead of White Ribbon Alliance Kenya; Dr. Om Prasad Gautam, Hygiene Lead at WaterAid UK; and Dr. Fiona Emdin, Research Fellow with the AMR Policy Accelerator at the Global Strategy Lab.
