Welcome to Unpacking AMR

Policy research on antimicrobial resistance (also known as AMR) is one of the main focuses of our lab. Antimicrobial resistance occurs when bacteria, viruses, and other microbes stop responding to antimicrobial medicines. This results in drug-resistant infections. When AMR occurs with bacteria, it is sometimes referred to as antibiotic resistance. You may have heard of drug-resistant tuberculosis, gonorrhea, and salmonella as a few examples. Our podcast focuses on two key areas of drug resistance research: The SAFE AMR Governance Partnership and the AMR Policy Accelerator. Set to make it’s debut in early 2024, we are excited to bring you new episodes every two months. You can easily access and enjoy our discussions with insightful guests on antimicrobial resistance as we host the podcast on Spotify. Find us by searching for Unpacking AMR.
