Kadia Petricca is the Senior Policy Lead at the Global Strategy Lab’s AMR Policy Accelerator, where she draws on her expertise in global health policy and implementation science to lead the Smart Choice process in advancing national AMR action planning with partner countries.
Kadia is deeply committed to strengthening the translation of evidence into real-world impact. She has extensive experience facilitating policy dialogues with diverse system stakeholders and producing various knowledge products to inform decision-making. Her academic work spans multiple global contexts, particularly in East Africa. Before joining the Global Strategy Lab, Kadia worked as a researcher for academic centers (including the Centre for Global Child Health at SickKids Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health), and as a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme, where she partnered with stakeholders to enhance national planning and health services provision for both communicable and non- communicable diseases. Recently, in her role at the Barwick Implementation Lab, she has been at the forefront of testing an innovative tool to support the effective implementation of evidence-based interventions.
Kadia is also passionate about promoting initiatives that encourage dialogue and collaboration across disciplines and contexts. She co-founded Juxtaposition Global Health Magazine, the leading global health publication at the University of Toronto and remains actively involved in several committees that support the continued advancement of capacity-building in evidence translation and implementation science.
She holds an MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Global Health Policy from the University of Toronto.
