On March 11, GSL Director Steven Hoffman appeared on The Agenda with Steve Paikin to discuss the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the Canadian response.
On the program, Hoffman discussed the legal and ethical implications of a quarantine and what powers the different governmental institutions in Canada have at their disposal. He also lauded the Canadian response thus far and clarified what the responsibilities of each jurisdictional level (city, province, federal) are.
He was joined on the panel by Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Eileen de Villa and employment lawyer Ryan Watkins.
