GSL Associate Director discusses the role of Alberta’s chief medical officer of health on CBC and Radio-Canada

On September 15, GSL Associate Director Patrick Fafard joined Edmonton AM’s Mark Connolly on CBC to discuss the role of chief medical officers of health across Canada and in particular Alberta’s Deena Hinshaw’s last few months at the centre of COVID-19 debate in the “Princess Province.”

Last week, Deena Hinshaw in a chat with doctors expressed regret about having played a part in the government’s messaging that COVID-19 was over. That messaging had led to the province fully opening up months ago, resulting in a dramatic surge in COVID-cases.

On Radio-Canada’s La Croisée (September 16 broadcast), Patrick Fafard discussed Deena Hinshaw’s role as well. The first part of the conversation, however, was centred around the question if vaccine passports or any kind of proof of vaccinations were legal under constitutional personal freedom rights.
