GSL Associate Director discusses institutional design of CMHO role on 630CHED

On September 14, GSL Associate Director Patrick Fafard appeared on Shaye Ganam’s radio show on 630 CHED to discuss the institutional design of the chief medical officer of health role in Canadian provinces. The wide-ranging chat included topics such as the historic purpose of the role as well as how CMOHs have been asked to face the public and support the government during COVID-19. The two, in particular, discussed the example of Deena Hinshaw, the CMOH of Alberta and Tyler Shandro, Alberta’s Health Minister, since 630CHED broadcasts mainly in the Edmonton area.
