We are pleased to announce that the Global Strategy Lab’s Associate Director Patrick Fafard was awarded funding through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to conduct research on COVID-19. He will head up an international team of researchers that will investigate how senior government officials communicate public health advice. The research will also assess the extent to which the public understands and trusts government messaging.

The project’s research will contribute to public health response strategies for mitigating the spread of infectious disease in Canada, as well as in four other countries with similar health systems.

On March 6, at the official announcement of the CIHR grants, Patrick Fafard was asked to brief the federal Minister of Health Patty Hajdu on GSL’s research plans on the topic of COVID-19.

GSL is also hiring a Research Associate to join this exciting project. For more information click here.
