Roojin Habibi on Amendments to International Health Regulations

Global Strategy Lab’s Research Fellow Roojin Habibi has published a new article in The Conversation Canada highlighting new historic amendments to the International Health Regulations. These amendments mark a significant milestone in global health governance. In her article, Roojin discusses the shortcomings exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and explains how these changes aim to enhance transparency, collaboration, and equity in pandemic preparedness and response.  

While implementation remains a challenge, the agreement signifies and underscores the importance of unity when addressing global health threats. Roojin emphasizes that looking ahead, countries must seize this momentum to further prioritize equity and fairness in future health agreements, ensuring that no one is left behind in the face of future crises.
