GSL Researchers Secure Funding for Global Legal Epidemiology Project

Eighteen York University researchers have secured over $3 million in funding from the Government of Ontario through the Ontario Research Fund and the Early Researcher Awards. This funding is designated to aid institutions in attracting and retaining top research talent and to foster growth in Ontario’s innovation sector.

Among the projects receiving funding is the development of the new research field called global legal epidemiology, led by Global Strategy Lab Steven Hoffman, Co-Director Mathieu Poirier, and Investigators Tarra L Penney and A.M. Viens. This project aims to enhance the equity and effectiveness of international law while strengthening Ontario’s preparedness against global health threats.

This funding promises to stimulate growth, igniting creativity, and fuel invention across various industries in the province.
