GSL Director talks to 640 Toronto anchor Kelly Cutrara about the Quarantine Act

On March 26, GSL Director Steven Hoffman appeared on 640 Toronto’s (Global News Radio) morning drive show with Kelly Cutrara to elaborate on the history, use, and legal implication of the 2005 Quarantine Act. On March 25, the Canadian government announced that it would mandate isolation for all new arrivals in Canada starting immediately.

In the interview, Hoffman explained that the Quarantine Act, even if unknown to most Canadian citizens and residents, is enforced every day. Having a policy under the Act that addresses thousands of people, however, is a first in Canadian history.
