GSL Director quoted in Toronto Star Article about COVID-19’s influence on future healthcare professionals

On October 3, GSL Director Steven Hoffman was quoted in an article in the Toronto Star’s Insider Guide that was investigating the impact COVID-19 had on current students in the healthcare field. The article argued, that this worldwide pandemic has shown the need for for adept, skilled and future-facing healthcare professionals.

In the article, Hoffman agreed with that notion and explained that his York University Global Health students “are currently studying what they’re living.” He further argued that COVID-19 has shown that health goes beyond the boundaries of our local communities and that there are many opportunities for future health professionals who are interested in specializing on health issues that defy national borders.
