On January 19, GSL Director Steven Hoffman was quoted in a CBC News article and featured in a news item on CBC’s The National, discussing a WHO-commissioned panel report about countries’ conduct during the early stages of the pandemic.
In the article, Hoffman called the report “scathing” and argued that “every political leader in the world was just hoping that the next pandemic wouldn’t happen on their watch. The results? Deadly consequences.” He further he hoped that the COVID-19 catastrophe will be a rallying cry to ensure governments invest in public health not only to prevent emergencies but also to promote health.
