INAMRSS was founded to advance social science research on infectious diseases, including but not limited to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In 2026, we are partnering with ESCMID Global (17-21 April in Munich) to begin offering a platform for impactful social science work within ESCMID Global, one of the largest scientific meetings in the world on infectious diseases. The early registration fee for non-ESCMID members is €593; however, we have been awarded 25 complimentary registrations to foster stronger interdisciplinary collaboration between ESCMID members and social scientists.
We offer 3 opportunities:

1. The 5th INAMRSS Research Conference: This conference will take place in Munich, beginning at 2:00 PM on Thursday, 16 April 2026, and will include a conference dinner and a morning session on Friday, 17 April. Attendance costs will be minimal, although participants are responsible for travel, accommodation, and potentially dinner (we are seeking additional funding support). Participation is welcome regardless of attendance at ESCMID Global.
We will also plan to have a roundtable discussion on previous efforts to integrate social sciences with clinical and international health work. We invite abstracts on any topic that integrates social sciences with infectious diseases, with particular interest in the following topics:
- The AMR burden in different contexts
- Interventions to prevent AMR and its impact, including social barriers
- The relative lack of public engagement for AMR compared to some other diseases
- Antimicrobial products – supplies, regulation, access, use, ethics, stewardship, or innovation
- Case studies and lessons from the integration of social sciences in global health initiatives
- The Independent Panel on Evidence for Action on AMR

2. The ESCMID Global Science Policy Forum: The Forum will take place on the afternoon of Friday, 17 April in Munich. Select social scientists have been invited to speak and the sessions will include interactive components with a view, over time, to increase social science integration in ESCMID.

3. ESCMID Global Scientific Program: The full program runs from 17–21 April. Abstract submissions for speaking slots opens very soon – 15 October and closes on 26 November. We strongly encourage submission of abstracts to ESCMID Global, which may differ from those submitted to the INAMRSS Research Conference. Submissions must adhere to ESCMID guidelines and be completed through their portal. While selected abstracts may be included in the main ESCMID Global program, final acceptance is determined solely by ESCMID.
Please use this Form to apply for both the INAMRSS Research Conference and to request a complimentary ESCMID Global registration. We kindly ask that complimentary registrations be requested only if you commit to submitting an abstract to present at both INAMRSS and ESCMID Global.
