We are proud to share that the Smart Choice Process (SCP), developed through the AMR Policy Accelerator at the Global Strategy Lab, has been featured in a recent WHO Regional Office for Africa’s publication on advancing implementation of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) national action plans (NAPs).
The inclusion of the “Smart Choice approach” reflects growing recognition of the need for systematic, multisectoral prioritization as a critical step in translating AMR commitments into coordinated national action. Increasingly, prioritization is being understood not simply as a technical exercise, but as part of strengthening the governance infrastructure to enable collaboration and decision-making across the One Health sectors.
This recognition and milestone each reflect the leadership and collaboration of country partners, regional stakeholders, and global collaborators who have co-designed and applied the SCP in real prioritization contexts since 2024.
We look forward to deepening our partnership with the WHO and the Quadripartite, and global partners to further support evidence-informed decision-making and implementation for AMR impact.
