Marium Salwa is a physician-researcher working on advancing primary health care through evidence-informed interventions. Her research integrates public health, implementation science, and quantitative epidemiology to design and evaluate health and behaviour change strategies in real-world settings. She has led and contributed to the development of several community- and system-level health interventions, applying advanced statistical modelling to assess effectiveness and scalability.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Poirier. Her doctoral research investigates the intersection of antimicrobial resistance and co-occurring chronic conditions, with a focus on understanding how multimorbidity shapes infection outcomes and health system burden. Her work aims to inform sustainable antimicrobial stewardship strategies within Canada’s publicly funded health system.
