Dr. Lauren J. Wallace is a Research Associate at the Global Strategy Lab, where she uses her expertise as a medical anthropologist to synthesize research on the complex social components of AMR.
As a member of the AMR Policy Accelerator team, Lauren spearheads evidence synthesis focused on unpacking the pathways between gender, equity and AMR. She also contributes to research on the design of a global governance panel on evidence for action against AMR (IPEA). Lauren’s areas of interest and expertise include health security, priority setting, multisectoral collaboration, and gender-transformative approaches to health systems and policies.
Lauren completed her PhD in Anthropology of Health at McMaster University where she was a CIHR Vanier Scholar. Lauren has eight years of experience as a Senior Researcher in Ghana, where she worked at the Dodowa Health Research Centre and the University of Ghana, leading and collaborating on projects funded by CIHR, IDRC, and FCDO.
Lauren is deeply passionate about strengthening the capacity of research institutions in low- and middle-income countries in health policy and systems research and has delivered courses to health professionals and researchers at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and at McMaster University.
