Fitsum Woldeyohannes

Doctoral Research Fellow

Fitsum Hadgu Woldeyohannes is a Public Health and Policy Researcher specializing in health economics and financing across sub‑Saharan Africa and Canada. As a Research Fellow with the Global Strategy Lab’s AMR Policy Accelerator, Fitsum supports antimicrobial resistance policy research focused on the economic return of AMR interventions, under the supervision of Dr. Poirier.

Prior to joining GSL, Fitsum served as a Health Economist with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, contributing to Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) projects. He previously worked with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Ethiopia, where he collaborated with governments and international organizations to strengthen health financing reforms and generate applied evidence to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC). His research portfolio includes health purchasing, economic evaluations, and outcomes research.
