Job description

Under the supervision of Professor Mathieu Poirier, the AMR Policy Accelerator (AMRPA) Research Assistant (for up to 10 hours per week) will work closely with research project leads (Dr. Arne Ruckert and Dr. Genevieve Boily-Larouche) to contribute to various aspects of active research projects at AMRPA.

AMRPA is a think-tank initiative of the Global Strategy Lab, tasked with accelerating global action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through research and policy innovation. We undertake three programs of work:

  1. Providing Advisory Services to governments, international organizations, and civil society in response to request for evidence on AMR policy, implementation and evaluation.
  2. Work with leading experts in the field to generate actionable Policy Research.
  3. Support policy development and research around the world through a suite of Capacity Building programs.

Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:

  • Support research design, data collection, data management, and data analysis for Accelerator projects including systematic reviews and evidence syntheses;
  • Contribute to developing high quality manuscripts, research reports, and data visualizations;
  • Conduct literature searches and environmental scans;
  • Support knowledge translation activities such as report writing, public reports, presentations, grant applications, and peer-reviewed publications;
  • Actively contribute and participate in a dynamic and highly productive team environment;
  • Communicate effectively with team members

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student at York University. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged.
  • Demonstrated interest in research communications
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team with researchers, students, and staff.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
