GSL Research Cited In A 2023 The Lancet Commentary By INB Bureau Co-Chairs And Vice-Chairs

GSL’s research plays a prominent role in an April 2023 The Lancet commentary by INB Bureau Co-Chairs and Vice-Chairs titled, “A WHO pandemic instrument: substantive provisions required to address global shortcomings”. The commentary draws from the GSL research study, “International treaties have mostly failed to produce their intended effects“, published in PNAS in August 2022. The original research concluded that treaties (beyond trade and finance) that do not have enforcement mechanisms are unlikely to be worth their considerable effort and may cause unintended harm.
