On July 22, GSL Director Steven Hoffman appeared on CTV’s evening news broadcast to comment on the worrying trend of COVID-19 infections rising among younger cohorts.
In the interview, Hoffman explained that while the virus is still affecting young people less than older generations, they could be a major contributor to the continuous spread of COVID-19 around the globe. He also touched on the phenomenon of lockdown fatigue, where people are less vigilant about the virus, probably because of nicer weather. Hoffman urged to still follow the necessary guidelines, since we could easily fall into exponential spread again.
