On August 24, GSL Director Steven Hoffman appeared on the Toronto Star’s This Matters podcast to discuss the effects a second wave could have socially and economically.
In the episode, Hoffman explained that if Canadians would adhere to the current COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing and wearing masks whenever distancing is impossible, there is a possibility that Canada could avoid a second wave.
If a second wave were to hit Canada though, there is a possibility of rolling back harsher protections and a second lockdown which might be harder to sell to a public that has been largely staying at home for months.
