The 2nd annual regional Asia-Pacific AMR Conference 2025, co-hosted by the Ministry of Health of Indonesia and ReAct Asia Pacific, took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 12th to 13th. Julia Bishop, Director of Global Engagement, attended on behalf of Global Strategy Lab’s AMR Policy Accelerator.
The conference convened government representatives, international organizations, global health and development partners, researchers, civil society groups, private sector leaders, and youth networks, offering a platform to exchange ideas and sustain momentum in addressing AMR challenges.
Julia Bishop presented on the Smart Choice Process (SCP), a three-phased process developed by the AMR Policy Accelerator that helps countries systematically prioritize AMR interventions through a One Health lens, ensuring that perspectives from human, animal, and environmental health are considered during the development of the countries’ national action plans. She also had the opportunity to moderate an engaging panel of representatives from the Quadripartite agencies highlighting multi-sectoral approaches to addressing AMR.

The Global Strategy Lab is honoured to have contributed to this dialogue, helping move from high-level plans into concrete action and supporting the Asia-Pacific region’s leadership in the global response to AMR. Together, these efforts are laying the foundation for healthier, more resilient communities in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
