Announcing the AMR Policy Accelerator’s 2025-2026 Advisory Board

The AMR Policy Accelerator is pleased to announce the composition of its 2025-2026 Advisory Board, which brings together global leaders and experts who provide strategic and technical guidance on the Accelerator’s priorities to address emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) policy needs at the global level.

Our Advisory Board represents a rich diversity of perspectives across One Health sectors (human, animal, and environmental health) ensuring our work remains globally relevant and responsive to real-world policy challenges.

Welcoming New Members

We are delighted to welcome several new members and an observer to the Board:

  • André Luiz de Abreu — Social Policy Analyst, Ministry of Health, Brazil
    Member of the WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on AMR (STAG-AMR, 2024–2027) and the Global AMR R&D Hub Board. André coordinates Brazil’s AMR National Action Plan and brings extensive experience in public health laboratories, epidemiology, and pandemic preparedness and response.
  • Margo WarrenDirector of Government Engagement & Policy, Access to Medicine Foundation
    Margo is a recognized leader in global health policy with over a decade of experience shaping health policy in Canada and globally through research, strategy, and evidence-based advocacy. With the Access to Medicine Foundation, she advances equitable access to medicines through partnerships with governments, foundations, and multilateral organizations.
  • Evelyn WesangulaSenior AMR Control Specialist, East Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC)
    Formerly Kenya’s National AMR Focal Point, Evelyn led the development of Kenya’s first AMR Action Plan. She currently serves as Vice Chair of Infection Prevention Network-Kenya and Co-Chair of the Technical Advisory Group for the UK Fleming Fund.
  • Observer: Rebecca ManaleyGlobal Health Policy Adviser, Wellcome
    Rebecca specializes in infectious diseases and AMR policy. She previously served in the UK Government, supporting the UK Special Envoy on AMR, the Antivirals and Therapeutics Taskforce, and the Chief Medical Officer’s Office during the COVID-19 response.

  • Amit KhuranaDirector, Sustainable Food Systems Programme, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE)
    Amit leads campaigns addressing AMR’s animal and environmental dimensions and promotes policies for sustainable food systems, particularly in resource-constrained settings.
  • Dr. Fajer Al SalloomDirector, Animal Health Directorate, Ministry of Municipalities Affairs & Agriculture, Kingdom of Bahrain
    Vice President of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Council and member of Bahrain’s National AMR Committee, Dr. Al Salloom advances animal health and veterinary public health initiatives regionally and globally.
  • Observer: Dr. Javier Yugueros-MarcosHead, AMR & Veterinary Products Department, World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)
    Dr. Yugueros-Marcos leads international efforts to strengthen veterinary medicine quality and coordinates actions promoting the responsible use of antimicrobials across the Quadripartite.
